Tate Modern is Britain's national gallery of international modern art and forms part of the Tate group (together with Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool, Tate St Ives and Tate Online). 

It is the most-visited modern art gallery in the world, with around 4.7 million visitors per year, based in the former Bankside Power Station, the collections in Tate Modern consist of works of international modern and contemporary art dating from 1900 until today. 

The Tate Collection is on display on levels three and five of the building, while level four houses large temporary exhibitions and a small exhibition space on level two houses work by contemporary artists.

FREE GUIDED TOURS
Each tour focuses on highlights from different areas of our Collection Displays, chosen by our expert guides.The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes. Meet at Level 5.
  • The tour at 11.00 focuses on Poetry and Dream, meeting at Level 3
  • The tour at 12.00 focuses on Collection Highlights, meeting at Level 3
  • The tour at 14.00 focuses on States of Flux, meeting at Level 5
  • The tour at 15.00 focuses on Energy and Process meeting at level 5
These tours are designed for individuals and small groups. If you are a group of over ten people, please register your visit and book a tour separately.

OPEN STUDIO
Visit Open Studio to experiment, play and create with ideas and materials before or after visiting the related artworks in the free collection displays.

Under 5's Zone

AGES 5 AND UNDER
A new play space for under 5s and their families. The Under 5s Zone invites children on a creative, physical and sensory exploration of themes inspired by Cubist artworks.

Every Saturday and Sunday 11.00–16.00, and Thursdays and Fridays during the school holidays. Visit Open Studio to experiment, play and create with ideas and materials before or after visiting the related artworks in the free collection displays.
