ZILCHOO RECOMMENDS
The Royal Air Force Museum in Colindale you'll be able to navigate your way through the history of aviation from the earliest balloon flight to the latest Eurofighter!  This world-class collection of over 100 aircraft, aviation and wartime memorabilia offers a fun day out for all the family. Don’t forget to visit the 3D cinema in Milestones of Flight or the awe inspiring sound and light show that takes you back in time to the Battle of Britain.

GRAHAME-WHITE FACTORY & WATCH OFFICE
This building is the UK's first aircraft factory, purpose-built, here at Hendon by Claude Grahame-White in 1917. It includes the surviving quarter of the original factory, which was carefully relocated onto the Museum site. It also has all the original metal roofing, doors, windows and other fittings.

MILESTONES OF FLIGHT
The Milestones of Flight building was opened in 2003, 100 years after the first powered flight by Orville Wright. High viewing areas and state-of-the-art interactive technology take you through some of the most important milestones in aviation history.

THE BOMBER HALL
The Bomber Hall exhibition follows the development of the bomber from its first appearance in World War One to the highly sophisticated machines of today. When you visit RAF Museum London you can also find out about the achievements of RAF Bomber Command and the U.S. Army Air Forces in World War Two.

HISTORIC HANGERS
The Historic Hangars are listed buildings that were part of the old Hendon Aerodrome, the cradle of British aviation. They have been linked together by a new building that was created to house part of the Museum's collection of fighter aircraft. This is dedicated to Sir Sidney Camm, the designer of the Hawker Typhoon that sits in pride of place.

AUDIO TOURS
Each of the downloads below have been created to be listened to either on their own as you walk around the Museum, as you read the various information boards located in front of each of Bomber Hall's aircraft or in conjunction with the Museum's Guide Book which is available for sale at our Main Entrance Reception Desk. Aeronauts Interactive

AGES 10 +
Children and adults will learn much about how aircraft fly and a range of associated aviation topics. Attempt to drop a package from a large transport plane onto a small patch of ground; experience the weight-shift method of controlling a hang-glider; discover some secrets of helicopter flight and test your aptitude to be a top fighter pilot.
Over 40 specially commissioned interactive units explore how the properties of air, forces, light, electricity, materials and the human brain relate to flight. With real and simulated cockpits to sit in; a six-metre section of a Dakota aircraft and the chance to push, blow, test, feel, pull, judge, plug, watch, balance, try out and get involved, the Aeronauts Interactive centre is a place to both learn and have fun.
