ZILCHOO RECOMMENDS
Click here for your London Pass
The Foundling Hospital was founded in 1741 by the philanthropic sea captain Thomas Coram. It was a children's home established for the "education and maintenance of exposed and deserted young children." The word "hospital" was used in a more general sense than it is today, simply indicating the institution's "hospitality" to those less fortunate.

COMMUNITY CHOIR
The Foundling Community Choir is a sociable adult choir that meets every Monday night  during term time in the inspiring surroundings of the Foundling Museum’s Picture Gallery. The choir is led by the much loved and inspirational choir-master Rachel Staunton who leads an extensive and varied repertoire including classical, jazz, madrigals and pop. So there really is something for everyone! There is no audition to be a part of the choir and any level of singer is welcome. All we ask for is commitment and enthusiasm!
